Introduction to Enforcing Balanced Accounting Entries

To maintain the financial integrity of the system, all applications generate balancing entries. Temenos Transact performs a check if the accounting entries raised by an application balance.

The following applications are an exception to this rule, for they can genuinely raise one-sided entries. The system can force the balancing leg if parameterised to do so.

Application	Description
`DATA.CAPTURE` (DC)	Journaling functionality that can raise one-sided entry. There is a mechanism to stop unbalanced batches already in place.
`FIDUCIARY` (FD)	Can make two separate calls to accounting.
`REVALUATION.AL`	Generates one sided entries during the COB.
